Eljae Privacy Notice
Last updated November 6, 2026
This notice explains what Eljae collects about you, why, who sees it and how to delete it. Eljae is a service of Lina. Lina is the trade name of Joseph Linares, a sole proprietor based in San Diego, California. Questions: support@linasystems.org.
1. What we collect
- Your email address, to make your account and to send you your sign-in code and any Plus emails.
- Your sign-in code. It works once and for 10 minutes. We keep it only in scrambled form, and we erase it when it is used or soon after it expires. The code itself is also emailed to you (through Resend). A record that a code was asked for (your email address, your IP address and the time) stays for a day or so to limit how many codes can be sent, even if you never finish making an account.
- Your account details: when you made the account, when you last used it, the version of the Terms you accepted and when, your plan (including whether it was given to you free), how many questions you ask each day and in total, and how much AI usage you used each day. Each conversation is listed under a title taken from the first words of your first question.
- The list sorter's count: how many rows of addresses you sorted each day. Not the file, not an address, not a result.
- Your conversations: the questions you type and the answers Eljae gives, kept with a conversation number and your email address.
- Technical details: your IP address when you make your account (kept with your account) and each time you ask for a sign-in code (kept for a day or so). We also use IP addresses, in memory only, to limit how fast requests can be made. Our hosting and network providers may log IP addresses and browser details in the ordinary course of carrying traffic.
- Payment details, if you buy Plus. Stripe collects your card and billing details; we never see or keep your card number. We keep a Stripe customer number, a subscription number, your subscription’s status and its renewal date. If a payment fails, we email you a Stripe link to fix it.
Please do not type anything into Eljae that you would not want kept. It does not need your name, phone number or ID; for district questions it needs at most a street address or a ZIP code.
2. Why we use it
- to make your account, sign you in and answer your questions;
- to apply your plan’s daily limit and to bill and support Plus;
- to keep Eljae secure and stop abuse;
- to check and improve the quality of answers: Lina’s staff can read conversations, as the next section says;
- to follow the law.
3. Who sees your conversations
Your account, your plan and your conversations are kept in Lina’s systems and are shown to Lina’s staff in the Command Center that runs Eljae. Staff can see your email address with your conversations, and can give or remove complimentary Plus, block an account or delete it. When Eljae cannot answer a question, or you ask it to pass something to the team, an alert goes to Lina’s owner by Telegram or email with the start of your question or message, the start of Eljae’s reply and your email address. We do not publish your conversations.
4. The AI behind the answers
To answer a question, we send the conversation, with the relevant public information Eljae looks up, to an AI model. Google’s Gemini models write Eljae’s answers; we use them through our own paid Google account. Google’s terms for paid use say it does not use what we send, or the answers, to improve its products; that it keeps them for a limited time to prevent abuse and meet legal duties; and that it may process them in any country where it has facilities. If Gemini is unavailable we may use OpenAI’s models or open models that run on Lina’s own Cloudflare account (Workers AI) instead. Cloudflare states that Workers AI keeps none of a request after answering it and does not use it to train models.
For many questions Eljae also looks up current facts with Google Search, through Gemini. The words of your question (and, for a short follow-up, your earlier question), including any address you typed, are sent to Google for that, and Google keeps them with the answer for 30 days. Your email address and your IP address are not sent to any AI provider.
We run all of this on our own provider accounts and send data to these providers only to produce your answers. We do not use your conversations to train AI models.
5. Addresses, the list sorter and the Census
When you sort a list, Eljae reads the file in your browser. For each row only the street, city and ZIP code are sent, in small batches over an encrypted connection, to Eljae’s servers and on to the U.S. Census Bureau’s public address lookup (geocoder), which answers the census block each address is in; Eljae turns the block into its districts. Names, voter IDs, phone numbers, ballot status and every other column of your file stay on your computer. Eljae holds the addresses only for the moment it takes to answer each batch. It does not save the file, the addresses or the results, does not use them for anything else and does not log them. The sorted list is built in your browser and goes to your downloads folder. The Census Bureau handles what it receives under its own terms.
If you type a street address into the chat to find your districts, Eljae sends that address, and only that, to the Census Bureau’s public address lookup. The rest of your message goes to the AI provider as Section 4 says.
6. Service providers
These companies handle data for us: Google (writes Eljae’s answers and searches the web for current facts), OpenAI and Cloudflare (backup AI; Cloudflare also carries the network traffic to the site), Stripe (payments), Resend (the emails we send you, and alerts to our team), Telegram (alerts to our team, which can contain the start of a question and your email address), Railway (hosting, the database and logs) and GitHub (nightly backups of our data, kept 30 days). The U.S. Census Bureau’s public address lookup receives what Section 5 says. Lina’s full list, with what each one handles, is on the Subprocessors page.
7. We do not sell your information
We do not sell personal information. We do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, give it to advertising networks or use it to target ads. Eljae’s pages load no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
8. Cookies and your browser
Eljae sets one cookie, which keeps you signed in on this browser (up to 180 days, or until you sign out). Your browser also stores, on your own device, your email address, your conversation numbers and the last 40 messages of each conversation you open, so a page reload does not lose them. Signing out does not remove them: on a shared computer, delete your account or clear this site’s data in your browser (deleting one conversation removes only that conversation from the device). Deleting your account removes your account and conversations from our systems, as Section 9 says.
9. How long we keep it
- We keep your account until you delete it. We keep each conversation until you delete it or delete your account, except that Eljae keeps only the latest 200 turns of a conversation, and if the service as a whole holds more than 5,000 conversations it removes the oldest first. The title of a conversation stays in your list until you delete it.
- You can delete any single conversation from the list on the home page. A copy is kept for 30 days in case of a mistake, then removed.
- We keep no list file and no address from the list sorter at all; only the day's row count, which is removed with your account.
- When you delete your account we remove your account, your sign-in sessions, any sign-in codes, your question counts and your conversations from Eljae’s systems. If you have Plus, we tell Stripe to cancel it at the end of the month you paid for. Some copies can remain for a limited time: our nightly backups roll off automatically within 30 days; a conversation you deleted earlier on its own is kept for 30 days, then removed (and a nightly backup that still holds it rolls off within 30 days after that); and alerts our team has already received (for example in Telegram or an inbox) stay until our team deletes them.
- Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
10. Your California privacy rights
If you live in California you can ask us to tell you what personal information we have about you and how we use it, to delete it, and to correct it. We will not treat you worse for asking. You can delete your account yourself on your Account page. For anything else write to support@linasystems.org; we will confirm it is you by sending a code to the email on the account, and answer within 45 days.
11. Children
Eljae is for people 13 and older. If we learn that someone under 13 has an account, we delete it. If you are a parent and think this has happened, write to support@linasystems.org.
12. Security
Traffic to Eljae is encrypted in transit. Sign-in is by one-time code. Each browser you sign in on gets its own sign-in cookie; signing out ends the one on that browser. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal information we will tell you as the law requires.
13. Changes and contact
If we change this notice we will post the new version here with its date, and for a material change we will tell you by email or on the site before it applies to you. The version you accept when you make your account, and the time you accept it, are recorded with your account. The current version is eljae+terms+privacy:2026-11-06. Contact: support@linasystems.org.
